CREATURA
PRIMAL EMERGENCE
Group Photography Ceremony For Women Reclaiming Their Wild Creative Nature
MAY 9TH, 2026 | SALT SPRING ISLAND
THESE INITIATORY TIMES CALL UPON US TO CREATE WITH THE FULL BREADTH OF OUR ALIVENESS.
To fully embrace and embody our wild feminine and creative nature, a woman must meet her Creatura.
A woman’s wild self is so often hidden from sight. Forced into exile by Patriarchal Culture. The loss of our innate instinct and creative life is not by accident…remembrance and reclamation is a conscious life path. Walking with us along this path is an Inner Figure, and Archetypal Energy, a Wild Woman Force. Primal Emergence is an eco-somatic ritual experience—we meet our wild feminine nature as she seeks to come more fully alive through us. This group photography ceremony is a doorway to experience your deepest embodiment and expression and will serve to catalyze your creativity.
The greatest choice of creation we can make as women is to love ourselves all the way down to our marrow.
Raw, utamed mess and all.
Fear of our wildness is one of our greatest blocks as women. When we walk ourselves home to our innate wildness, we thrive. We need only create a doorway for Her to enter. Our body is the doorway. Our expression is the invitation for Her to enter. Creatura, as an archetypal feminine force, is ever-present, but we need to step away from our mind and into another reality in order to engage her medicine. This is an invitation to participate in her sympathetic magic in service to your creative nature, authentic expression, and embodied power.
WHY A GROUP
PHOTOGRAPHY CEREMONY?
Women are the creators of life—birthers, midwives, oracles, seers, healers, poets, artists, mystics. For many of us, we are the first in generations to remember and reclaim our creative gifts, our voices, our medicine.
An important phase of this reclamation work is to brave being seen bellow the persona’s, identities and masks Patriarchal culture has made us wear. Photography Ceremony is an intentional therapeutic space for exposing ourselves to who we truly are. It can also be for marking transitions, honouring what is sacred, and a container for transformation. Done with others, we move together outside ordinary time, establishing liminal space where self-judgement, comparison and fear is suspended. This group photography ceremony bridges the seen and unseen worlds. We are co-sensing, co-creating, and co-habitating with the primal feminine wisdom body—accessing something larger than ourselves. This might be your greatest edge but I also believe it is the path we are destined to walk together towards deeper belonging, authentic expression and aliveness.
We will gather in nature on Salt Spring Island for a deep co-creative ceremonial creative experience.
During our time together, we will explore our relationship to our wild feminine nature through embodiment practice, nature connection, and ritual.
We will commune with our Creatura and make art together.
You will have individual portraits and we will also do group portraits, which we will all contribute our creatura impulses to. You do not need to be comfortable in front of the camera- in fact, if you feel that you are not, then this space is for you.
What to Expect
IS THIS CEREMONY RIGHT FOR YOU?
→ You feel rage and grief simultaneously but don’t know how to direct these big emotions. The world may be falling apart and you feel deeply impacted by what is happening and yet you know the raw emotions you feel are also the source of your power.
→ You feel creatively restricted. You are likely already a creative woman but as the world changes and become more challenging we are called to embody something deeper, to push through new creative edges. Perhaps there is a creative vision wanting to move through you, but you need more somatic range in order to meet it.
→ You're in a transition or threshold. Something is ending, something is beginning, but the ordinary language of your life can't hold what's actually taking place.
→ You've lost touch with your body as a source of wisdom. This is so normal, especially under the stressful conditions of these times. The depth of your embodiment is fluid. We need to have containers to cultivate depth as we continue to meet the world with our full presence.
→ You hunger for the sacred but need support (re)connecting to it. You ache for ritual, meaning, and a sense of being held by something larger and to be seen and held by other women, although it might be an edge. feels so right and necessary.
→ You create for everyone else but rarely for yourself. Your creative energy is the most important resource that you have. The more that goes toward work, family, productivity, the less you are resourced. It is hard to prioritize yourself, you know you need it.
→ You're ready to stop hiding and start authentically expressing. This ceremony will help heal your fear of being seen but it most definitely about celebrating you, not how you should look or be.
“Working with Jenny feels like moving across the great river marking life from death, waking from dreaming, or what we hilariously think we know from what we know we don’t know. The embodied, in-mother-nature experience of approaching the river of mystery, entering, being enveloped, swimming, dwelling, deepening, wandering, lingering, all the while moving and crossing, then surfacing, fully emerging, and stepping onto and resting on the other shore. This dynamic in itself, this process, is the sacred stuff.”- Chantell Foss, 5 Rhythms Teacher
Hi, I am Jenny,
As an embodiment photographer and depth guide, I have an abiding devotion to the power of a woman’s authentic life and wild interiority. Through eco-somatic practice, ceremony, and embodiment photography— I help women’s deepest images come alive.
Not only has this work helped me to connect to and reclaim my wild and creative nature as a woman, but it has connected me with hundreds of other brave and brilliant wild women on a similar path.
Creating wild images with woman has been an incredible journey and I believe that we need to be coming together more to create art.
This offering is prayer for the pathways for cultural renewal and regeneration I believe women are creating through our embodiment, expression, and creativity.
