Arousing Creative Courage
Revive your creative impulse while developing embodied pathways for your creative work to flow
Creativity is a “shape changer” writes Clarissa Pinkola Estés. It takes up shape inside of us and changes us from the inside out. Our creative ‘success’ is largely determined by how willing are we to give creativity allowance to our vessel.
“The creative force flows over the terrain of our psyches looking for the natural hollows, the arroyos, the channels that exist in us. We become it’s tributaries, i'ts’ basins, we are its pools, ponds, streams, and sanctuaries. The wild creative force flows into whatever beds we have, those we are born with as well as those we dig with our own hands.” - Clarissa Pinkola Estés
Each woman is a creative genius in her own right. And yet so many of us struggle to understand and honour our creative process, cycles, and desires.
This offering is deeply rooted in my personal experiences, making it my own through and through. It seems appropriate to share my personal narrative, detailing how I found my strength, devotion, clarity, courage, and coherence within my creative process. This is a personal journey, taken through a transpersonal lens, that I believe is a common challenge for many women. While each of us has our own way of navigating this challenge, there is a common root. I believe my approach, having served me so deeply, can also serve other women.
I'm not suggesting the complete elimination of difficulties. The beauty of the creative courage framework is that once we start creating, our work will continuously challenge us. There will always be new layers of self to uncover and integrate. However, the river of inspiration and the arousal of our creative desires will have more room to flow through our bodies, into our creative process, and out into the world. This is what I want for other women - to honour the magic of the creative feminine life force. It won't always be "easy," but I believe that sharing my experiences and learnings can provide a beacon of possibility for others who desire to create.
You might find this helpful if you:
Feel that your creative life-force energy is stuck
Experience doubt, self-criticism, and comparison when initiating creative visions
Fear the implications of putting meaningful work out into the world
Feel disconnected from a source of creative energy
Are hesitating on a creative project that will push your boundaries
Tend to stick to your comfort zone but want to make different choices
Want to stop sabotaging the creative projects you desire to create
Find yourself "stuck" or "frozen" after feeling inspired to create something meaningful
Know what to do to move past the block but can’t make it happen and end up abandoning your vision
Feel exhausted before even beginning a creation cycle and are unsure how to create in a nourishing, sustainable way
Compare yourself to others and judge your creative work as 'less worthy'
Come home to your creative nature and share your gifts with confidence
My name is Jenny.
I am your guide you on this journey. For a significant portion of my life, I held the misconception that I lacked creativity. I did not realize it, but I was stuck in a freeze state due to my childhood trauma and by habitually choosing strategies to stay safe rather than live my truth throughout my 20's.
However, at the age of 29, a traumatic experience catalyzed a surge of creative energy within me, facilitating deep healing and fostering a connection with the feminine creative life force.
I began to harness this energy, not merely through my body but also through the land. Engaging in earth-based embodiment rituals triggered a profound transformation in my nervous system, allowing me to access what I now identify as the Anima - the inherent feminine force of nature.
This 'animacy' is the lifeblood of everything I create. It is the bedrock of my spiritual practice and the essence of my business offerings. It also serves as a pillar of strength when life's obstacles test my resilience. It nurtures me when I am engulfed by fear, overwhelmed, or caught in a survival pattern.
I've crafted a ritual and embodiment method that has effectively enabled me to connect with the earth's animacy and my own body.
This method has broadened my nervous system's ability to withstand the discomfort that often accompanies a creative life. I offer it to you in this course.
The Modules
-
Creative courage is an inner experience. No one can give us their courage, although we can certainly be inspired by others. In order to create works of art, poetry, offerings, novels, songs, whatever it is, we must first dig into the soil of our own creative energy, flow, and terrain.
In this module, you will explore:
Our embodied reatioship to arousal, discomfort and overwhelm from an eco-somatic perspective
Core principles and practices for creating more space in your body for creative energy to move
Tools and tips for tracking your creative energy flow (and resistance to it)
The non-ordinary states of consciousness of the creative feminine landscape
-
As we learn and repattern our relationship arousal as a creative force, we begin to reconnect to the Animate. We begin to widen our capacity to be with the creative surges and contractions that take up space in our bodies when a creative vision comes to us. The more we connect to our bodies and the earth, the more we receive in the form of creative energy.
In this module, you will explore:
Our connection to the Anima (feminine) for your creative landscape
Tools and tips for creating flow and structure in your creative process and practices
The life/death/life cycle of creativity by releasing ego attachments to particular outcomes and ideas of how creativity should look.
